I go through a lot of black and white fabric, so I've been building my stash back up with some handpainted ones.
Mostly I use the Jacquard Textile paints, but I ran out of the white, so I used Golden's fluid acrylic in its place. It worked pretty well, but it does have a slightly stiffer hand when it dried. Fine for machine work but I wouldn't want to hand stitch through it.

i especially like the second and 4th image. nice effects with the paints.
Great work, I love the last two.
Love the B&W...your effects are terrific.
P.S. Textile medium added judiciously, will give acrylic paint a softer hand for stitching. :-)
Awesome! Such an inspiration, custom fabric is something I really want to start incorporating into my work
I like a nice stash of black and whites too....these are fantastic Robin and such fun to do. I love a splash of black and white in amongst bright colours.

Do you mix your paint with ormoline? It gives it a softer feel and makes the paint stretch further. I love all the samples.
love the dots,
These are wonderful! I love the dots, both the jar lids and the hand drawn.
I've been playing with paint on paper and you have inspired to try some of these techniques!!

I've never heard of ormoline and haven't mixed in textile medium either, but I will try both of those things--thanks for the tips. The Jacquard has a pretty soft hand, but I'm wondering if mixing in a little of those will make it even better. I'll let you know if it works.
I really like black and white and these look like fun. With one of my groups we are going to make a black and white fold book next month. Yes,it is tic-tac-toe - found on Wiki.

Black and white can be very exciting! Messy can be good! Great way to beef up your stash of b&w fabrics and have fun at the same time.
