Fragile

Finished this one--that's a phrase I haven't used in a while.

I was in a fragile state myself this week with a cold and skin treatment that left me not wanting to show my face in public, so a fragile piece suited me. I put together some of my most delicate fabrics, no backing, just frayed bits held together with a thread.



Found a home for a few baubles:

I am really happy with my fringe at the bottom. I did a little funky crochet and added some torn and knotted organza behind it:

    Wow I really love this work you did. Yes the name Fragile fits and what a keepsake. Someday I would love to be able to make something like this! Do you teach classes on this type of work. I can just see it dancing when a breeze comes in the window... just simply lovely.

    Thanks everyone! I really enjoyed working on this one. Some times they just feel right.
    Barb, I haven't taught classes on this type of work, but it's not that hard to do. It's mainly just hand stitching together beautiful pieces, then adding a few more on top to round out the composition. Give it a try!
    And Herm, I just haven't gotten around to joining SEW yet, but I will try to get it there.
