I have been busily finishing up pieces for our Dec. show. I decided to take some of my favorite faces from my 2 weeks of face experiments starting here, and turn them into finished pieces. I'm calling this my "Delicate Soul" series since they all feel very gentle to me. I've been framing them in fragile fabrics full of soft frays and giving them just a line of text as it comes to me while I'm working on them.
love the second, so sad and pensive, and the fourth defiant but sensitive
ReplyDeleteoh, wow, just love your hanging device idea. and these faces... so happy to see them again. delicate souls, yes... xo
ReplyDeleteI love these! so delicate and love the words that accompany them. Your straw hanging device is a grand idea. I could see several of these hanging together in a mobile, wafting in the breeze.
ReplyDeleteA mobile--what a lovely idea Jan! I did hang some of them in the window and they look really nice with the light coming through. So a mobile might be perfect for some of them.
ReplyDeletethese are just marvelous.
ReplyDeleteI especially like Reads too much - surely a very gentle soul...
ReplyDeletelove these faces!
ReplyDeleteI love that gauzy, filmy look you have created with those fabrics and the title for the series "Delicate Souls" is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on the hanging device. Very clever of you to think that one up.

Hi Robin,
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by the bloggy and giving me a chance to see qwhat yummy things you do ..
your faces remind me so much of an artist I adore - Deborah Putnoi. She is a printmaker, however her lines are so much like yours - loose and free.
That's a clever and appropriate way to hang your delicate pieces.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your writing. Interesting articles...
